🤔 Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is BrainPit?

BrainPit is a library of ready-to-use AI tools. Each one does a single job, asks you a few plain-English questions, and hands back a useful answer. No blank box to stare at, no prompts to learn, no jargon.

The name is a nod to the idea of a pit stop for your brain: a place you pull into when you need an answer, a draft, a decision, or just something fun, and then get on with your day.

2. Who is BrainPit for?

Grown-ups who’ve heard endlessly that AI changes everything but find the whole thing intimidating or not worth the hassle. If you’ve ever opened one of the big AI apps, looked at the blinking cursor, and closed it again, you’re exactly who we built this for.

Our founder is in his fifties and built BrainPit for people over 40… the demographic often neglected by the tech industry. He uses these tools every day, and when something is confusing, he hears about it from people and fixes it.

3. Why not just use ChatGPT or one of the other AI apps directly?

You can, and plenty of people do. But a general-purpose AI is only as good as the question you ask it, and that’s the part nobody explains.

Ask badly and you get a confident, well-written answer that’s wrong, and you may not know it’s wrong until it’s embarrassing. These systems also tend to agree with you. Push back on an answer and many will simply change it, not because they reconsidered, but because they’re built to please. That’s a real problem when you’re asking about something you don’t already know.

We’ve done the asking for you. Every BrainPit tool already knows its job, what to check for, what to leave out, and how to explain the result in plain language. You bring the question; we’ve handled everything else.

The short version:

  • Less guessing
  • No wandering off-topic
  • Fewer made-up answers
  • Better results with less effort

4. What can I use it for?

A lot, and more every week. A sample of what’s in the library or on the way:

  • Checking whether an email, text, or phone call is a scam
  • Writing letters, emails, and sympathy cards
  • Meal ideas, grocery lists, and recipes
  • Travel and trip planning
  • Gift ideas, wine picks, book and movie recommendations
  • Budgeting and everyday money questions
  • Resumes, cover letters, and career advice
  • Blog posts, social media, and product descriptions
  • Pet care, dog breed matching, and name generators
  • Translating modern slang into plain English
  • Settling debates, making decisions, and plenty of purely-for-fun tools

5. How do the memberships work?

Three plans, and they differ by which tools you can open:

  • Free — Sign up with an email address and start using a starter set of tools right away. No credit card.
  • Standard — The full everyday library, for less than a couple of coffees a month.
  • Premium — Everything in Standard, plus our most powerful tools for research, writing, and decisions that matter.

Every plan comes with the same generous daily allowance, so you’re paying for access to more tools, not for more usage. See current pricing on the membership page.

6. Is there a limit on how much I can use the tools?

There’s a daily allowance on every plan, set high enough that normal use never bumps into it. It resets each day. If you ever do hit it, the tool will say so and you can pick up tomorrow. The exact number is in our Terms of Service.

7. How do I use a tool?

Open the tool’s page and scroll down to it. It’ll start by telling you what it needs, sometimes a button to click, sometimes a simple question, sometimes a dropdown or two. Answer it, press the button, and you’ll have a result in seconds. Most tools walk you through step by step, and there’s a “Start Over” button below the chat whenever you want a clean slate.

8. Do I need to be good with computers?

No. That’s the entire point. If you can send an email, you can use BrainPit.

9. Can I trust what the tools tell me?

Use the results as a strong starting point, not the last word. Our tools give far better answers than a blank AI chat window because they’re set up in advance for their specific job, but AI can still get things wrong and sound sure of itself while doing it. Check anything important, especially on money, health, legal, or safety matters. That’s true of every AI product, ours included.

10. Is my information private?

We don’t sell or share your personal information. What you type into a tool is sent to our AI providers to generate the answer, so don’t enter passwords, account numbers, or anything you wouldn’t want a third party to see. Your email is used for your account and, if you want them, occasional updates. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

11. What makes BrainPit different from other AI sites?

Most sites hand you access to a pile of AI models and wish you luck. But if you don’t know how to ask well, or how to tell whether an answer is any good, what does having ten models get you?

We took the opposite approach. Fewer choices, more preparation. Each tool is built for one job, tested, and tuned so you don’t have to think about the machinery at all. We’re a convenience company that happens to run on AI.

12. Where do I get help or suggest a new tool?

Start with our Support page, which covers the questions we get most. For anything specific, open a support ticket and a real person will answer.

Have an idea for a tool, or spotted something broken? Send it our way. Your idea might be the next one we build.

13. Who runs BrainPit?

BrainPit was founded by a long-time internet entrepreneur with more than two decades in IT. He’s a US military veteran, based in Florida, and was building and running websites long before AI was a headline.

This isn’t a faceless venture-backed startup. It’s built by someone who is squarely in the audience it serves and who uses these tools himself, every day.
